Satisfying my clients is the foundation of my work. Over the years, I have found that one of the most challenging clients is the one who wants to be a vibrant, yet natural, blonde. Does such a thing really exist??? Many of my color correction consultations complain of the same problem with their color, ashy roots and brassy highlights. Fortunately for my clients, I have developed a solution for these problems without breaking their piggybanks. There is a fine line between blonde tones and disaster. The important thing to consider first is that everyone has a different natural base color. Therefore, formulations will be different for each client. There is no "one size fits all" when it comes to color.

Two words...Base Breakers. I discovered these life savers about 15 years ago and have been refining the technique ever since. Whether you have highlights from the root down, balayage, flamboyage, or hombre, the ashy roots and yellow or brassy blonde tones are still an issue. Base Breakers are the solution!
Base breakers should not be confused with toners, they are not the same thing! Toners are used to deposit color where base breakers are used to provide "lift". A base breaker will do just what it says...it bumps the base about half to a full level, creating vibrancy to those ashy roots. Once fully applied to the roots of wet hair, the time you leave it on will vary but is not usually more than 10 minutes. When you are satisfied with the tone, you pull it thru to the ends and tone out any unwanted brassy or yellow hues. This will leave you with beautiful golden or sandy tones. This same technique can be used on hombre, balayage, and flamboyage. You can use the same formula that was used on the roots and pull it thru to the ends to give the hair a naturally beautiful tone. This technique will give the hair a beautiful tone while keeping it in the same color family resulting in the most beautiful and vibrant blonde ever!!!

Not sold on base breakers yet? There is more....being that they are considered "color", they will also pick up and refresh any faded low lights as well as tone them so that you can keep the contrast and avoid "over blonding". Here is the "piece de resistance"...If clients stay on a 6 week schedule then touchup of the highlights will not be needed every appointment. Therefore, they will save time AND money!!!! Most importantly, it is healthier for the hair. The initial appointment will involve highlights and a base breaker but the follow-up appointment is only a base breaker. You will see those highlights look brand new again! Want to find out more and become the most beautiful blonde, ever????
